Respect: It’s Not Just for America
Steven VanDeLaarschot
Undergraduate/Political Science
It is amazing sometimes when you consider what little things grab people's attention. As President Obama visited Japan he met with the Japanese Emperor Akihito and bowed to the emperor like any other person would when meeting the emperor. I, despite being the political junkie that I am, would never have heard about this if not for the massive outcry that came from many conservatives when they heard that President Obama bowed to an emperor.
UW-Eau Claire is the New Oxford

It’s that time of year again. Future
prospective UWEC students from all over the world…well Minnesota and Wisconsin,
are coming to Eau Claire for campus tours. (In fact, as I sit in the library typing
this, a group of angsty, skinny-jeaned teenagers are being led through the
library to check out our excellent research sources and multitude of leather bound
books.) But little do they know, Eau Claire administrators have a whole new bag
of tricks this year.
Chronicles of a Metalhead: Year End Recap [Part 2 of 3]
Undergraduate/Political Science and Print Journalism
Alright, guys. I’m on hour five of staring at my computer screen (hooray paper writing season in the PoliSci department!), but I feel like I’m somewhat prepared for the rundown of the ten best metal albums of 2009. If this is incoherent, I apologize. But then again, no one reads this anyway.
Actually, looking at the list I have in front of me, it’s absolutely impossible to cut this list down to ten. I have finished on twelve and will be presenting that. Suck it, what I said in the past.
