Evan’s Response to Dan:

Evan Gillick

Undergraduate/Spanish

I can't imitate Jake because I haven't read his articles. You insist I'm trying to be a Jake, when I'm not, and then berate me for not being more controversial/offensive than he was? I'm not the one trying to be someone else, you are the one trying to make me out to be something I'm not.

You don't understand what a hyperbole is, and the entire article was based around this premise. Even if you don't agree with how I do things, it doesn't make my points any less valid. Since you're incapable of ascertaining any point other than offensiveness, I'll give it to you: examine your idols, what you put above or below you, what you get from it, and why.

Never once have I attacked Christians; Christianity and people who blindly obey, yes, but never Christians. You see, I respect people a great deal, so while I may attack their views, I won't attack them individually. It seems, however, that no one is willing to afford me the same luxury. Rather than attack my views, people insist on attacking me directly. You don't know me, Dan 2, so please don't call me a douche unless you do. But it's ok, I forgive you.

And thank you for stating your opinion on my poetry. I'll be sure to only write things that you would like from now on. After all, that is what this publication is all about: catering to you and your tastes only. And Dan 2, you DON'T speak for the Flip Side community. It's a group of people who each speak for themselves.
